Building a Lasagna Garden

Lasagna gardening is a no-dig, no-till, weed-free gardening system that involves layering organic material on top of one another (much like making a lasagna!) that will decompose over time. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to re-purpose your yard waste and other organics to create loose, fluffy, fertile soil - perfect for growing vegetables and herbs for a real lasagna!

Join garden guru Karen Temple Beamish, whilst we fill up our brand new greenhouse beds, and hear her stories of tremendous success growing hundreds of kilograms of produce using simple organic waste.

🌱 What to bring: Water, a snack, and weather-appropriate clothing. (We’ll be outdoors in the Food Bank Garden rain or shine).

🌱 Registration: Pre-registration is required, as our group will be limited to 12 participants to ensure everyone has the chance to ask questions and learn by doing. You are welcome to register with children, provided they are accompanied by an adult and able to sit and listen to the instruction reasonably well.

🌱Cost: The Seed to Supper workshop series are accessible to all, with a free ticket option available to those who would benefit. Tickets are also available by donation - if you are able to, please consider donating. All proceeds go to the Golden Food Bank providing food solutions to those in need and make it possible for us to continue offering workshops like these to the community.
