Food bank distribution
Our crisis-based food bank program provides households experiencing food insecurity in Golden and Area A with hampers of fresh food and pantry staples. Food insecurity applies to individuals, couples and families who cannot afford the quality and quantity of food they need to avoid hunger. We also provide a food hamper delivery service for people who face a permanent or temporary barrier to accessing the food bank program in person.
Access to the food bank program begins with a friendly conversation with a member of our staff. We will ask some simple questions to understand how food insecurity is impacting your life and provide information on other supports and resources that may help. Once registered, you can pack a food box with items that will be of most use to you and your family in our open shopping area.
Food distribution runs twice a week.
Tuesdays 1:00pm - 5:00pm
Thursdays 9:30am - 1:00pm
Proof of residency in Golden or CSRD Area A is required.

Affordable market
Neighbours Affordable Market is a non-profit grocery pilot program that provides subsidized meal kits, fresh produce, and grocery items to individuals and families experiencing short-term financial challenges. The market is designed to fill the gap that exists between emergency food relief and retail grocery stores and make nutritious food more affordable and accessible.
The Neighbours Affordable Market pilot program is now complete.
We will continue to offer low-cost meal kits to anyone who would benefit, and are evaluating this program’s success, learnings, and opportunities for future funding. Thank you to the community for trying something new with us, stay tuned!

Food Rescue
We bring in a lot of quality food through our Food Recovery program, and sometimes after our food bank pick-up days are done we still have a surplus of select items that will expire before our next distribution day. You can help us keep good food out of the landfill and onto your tables!
Food Rescue Days are announced day-of when we have a surplus of food. Stay tuned to our social media (@GoldenFoodBank on Facebook and Instagram) or join the email list to be notified.
Everyone is welcome, donations are appreciated. Bring a bag!
